Welcome to the PhotoED on the Web blog. I want to help others learn to enjoy photography using the equipment they have, with the subjects that are near and dear to their hears - family, friends, home, neighborhood, passion projects, whatever gets you excited. Too many folks are discouraged or intimidated about enjoying photography because they feel they don't have the right equipment, the right models, the right know-how, the lack of understanding of the coolest and latest techniques, and the inability to get to right exotic locations--these are all imaginary barriers. Yes, it helps to have a base understanding of some photography fundamentals like composition, lighting and exposure, and certain types of photos lend themselves better to specific types of camera gear, but by an large, you can enjoy making and sharing photos with the most basic of gear, including the camera we always have with us, our smartphone camera.
